The LD Coach

Does Your Child Need Help to Read?

The Learning to Read Program is designed specifically to help the student learn to read by developing his ability to stabilize his perceptions through what the program calls his “mind’s eye.”  Here 's what our Program offers:

Stabilize the Mind's Eye

Learning to position and stabilize the mind's eye is the first MELT™ technique learned in this program. Once the student learns to access and correctly position his mind's eye, he becomes capable of true and dependable perception of what is written on the page in front of him.

Gain Character Command

When the skill of using his mind’s eye is established, the student begins to work on gaining command of the 290 written characters and abstract words (e.g., it, you, and, the, in), one symbol at a time.  The MELT™ techniques and tools used in the program help the student to eliminate the inherent confusion associated with learning abstract written symbols and words.

Learn to Read with Understanding

The skill of recognizing and "stopping" at punctuation marks is essential to gaining understanding of what is read.  The MELT™ Reading, Rhythm and Punctuation skills are practiced as the child gains command of the 290 written symbols and abstract words.

Make Learning Fun

The Learning to Read Program is designed to encourage a child to play and use his imagination — play and imagination are the keys that unlock learning.

The child learns as he interacts with the pop-up graphics and becomes the child figure in them; listens to and speaks along with the sound panel; feels and develops a sensory experience of the raised letters; applies the information about the word to the pop-up story-image; and completes the tasks on each page of the 13 book series of The Learning to Read Program.
MELT™ Tune in and Turn On Exercises are used to maintain and to recover brain integration.  The exercises harmonize and relax the mind and body whenever the stress of learning begins to block progress and produce tension and discomfort.  These exercises return the coach and the child to a sense of ease and enthusiasm for learning more.

Why Choose to Use this Program?

Parents who choose to use The Learning to Read Program find that they can help their child to learn to read and improve comprehension in a short time, at a minimal cost, and with a process that promotes enjoyment and success.
Outcome: autonomous learner who no longer needs a high degree of parental intervention
Outcome: An improved and confident reader who is reading at grade level or higher.
The Learning to Read Program is beneficial to any young reader.  All that is required is time in the comfort of your home.  A tremendous boost to self esteem is gained in the non-school setting as well as in the school setting when a child can read all words and characters.  He becomes a learner and a reader who knows that he can accomplish anything asked of him at school.
