Discover the Effectiveness of MELT™ Teaching Techniques
Each page of the books of The Learning to Read Program contains a series of simple, consistent teaching steps that your student will work through to gain character command of that particular stumble word.Through the presentation of several ways of learning what the word looks like, what the word sounds like, and what the word means, the student becomes able to join this information with his visual and tactile experience to bring the stumble word into his full comprehension. He then creates his own sentences to describe that word. His sentences show how he is able to apply and fully absorb what he has learned about the stumble word. The MELT™ techniques are described in detail in 4 papers (previewed in MELT™ Learning Solution) that clearly lead you through the steps of the protocol and the reasoning behind the protocol for teaching your child to read.
